15th Annual Texas Diversity Council Summer Youth Program at Rice University

8 A.M. – 4 P.M.

 

The Texas Diversity Council in partnership with Rice University is proud to announce the 15th Annual Texas Diversity Council Summer Youth Program at Rice University. This week-long program is held on the campus of Rice University and engages students from Houston area high schools and middle schools. The program provides life lessons and college readiness activities, which will equip students to have a successful transition into college and through graduation.

  • Financial Aid, Scholarship, and the College Admissions Process
  • Leadership Skills

We believe all students have the potential to be successful in college and we encourage students who may not have access to college-readiness opportunities and tools to enroll. Registration Opens April 22nd, 2024

Judith Alexander

Judith Alexander is a graduate of Wilberforce University, a Historical Black University established in 1856 in Wilberforce, Ohio and holds a degree in Business Administration. Her career spans 35 years with United Airlines and she currently works in Digital Technology as an Analyst and Product Owner. She is the President of her local alumni chapter Wilberforce University Alumni Association Houston Chapter.

As President of the local Houston Chapter, she alongside her fellow alums are working to bring awareness of the university to the Houston area. With her leadership skills, the chapter has participated in numerous college fairs with the Houston Historical Black College & University Alumni Association, a consortium of Houston based Alumni chapters from several Black Colleges and Universities and have hosted several events.

Judith has held offices with several other non-profit organizations in Houston.

Bola Diaw is an Information Technology Program Manager at United Airlines. She is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with over 15 years of experience in Infrastructure and Data Services Management.

As a past Chapter President and current Houston Center of Excellence Chair of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Bola is an advocate for higher education and developing future leaders in the careers they choose to pursue. She is also passionate about serving the community, as well as being a mentor to professionals beginning their careers in Information Technology.

Kimberly King

Kimberly King is the Business Relations Coordinator for the Texas Workforce Commission-Vocational Rehabilitation Services. She has 20 years of experience working in the private sector for Fortune 500 companies, in leadership, sales, marketing and business development. She earned a master’s degree in International Studies from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX and a bachelor’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Mrs. King describes her personal mission as: “I’m a bridge builder connecting people, ideas and resources to create value.”
