Welcome

Dennis Kennedy and Angeles Valenciano

Angeles Valenciano and I, are thrilled to welcome you to the 15th Annual Summer Youth Program. This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate a decade and a half of dedication to empowering our youth.

We are honored to host this week-long program on the esteemed campus of Rice University, in partnership with the university. This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to providing unparalleled opportunities for students from Houston area high schools and middle schools. Through our program, students participate for free, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their path to success.

Our partnership with Rice University enables us to offer a comprehensive curriculum that blends life lessons with college readiness activities. Our goal is to equip students with the tools and knowledge they need to transition smoothly into college and thrive through to graduation. We are especially focused on preparing and facilitating our youth of color, ensuring they are well-prepared to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams.

The purpose of our program is to foster an environment where students can gain valuable insights, build essential skills, and develop a strong sense of self and community. We aim to inspire them to envision and strive for a bright future, confident in their ability to succeed in college and beyond.

We invite you to join us in this important initiative. Your support and sponsorship are vital in helping us continue to offer this transformative experience to our youth. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of these students and pave the way for a more diverse and inclusive future.

Thank you for your consideration and support.
